My thoughts

Tonight I was having a little crisis moment. So my wonderful friend Melissa came over, and we talked.

I calmed down

and then, I felt it.

That moment of quiet.

That time when your thoughts stop racing.

When our heart slows down.

Maybe there's a weight on you head and shoulders

But even so that quiet is amazing

As I was sitting there, just feeling calm I had a few thoughts.

These thoughts are not gospel doctrine by any means.

But even so I feel in my heart that they are true.

My first thought was that we need to remember the power of words and actions.

Every word you speak or write isn't just a word.

That word is History and Present and Future

It may be made up of just a few letters

But those letters make something with power.

Something that is often forgotten.

When you say something you aren't just saying words, at least I hope you aren't

What you are saying at that point, with those words, is a Truth

Whether your words are honest or a lie they become a Truth, a Fact

Once they've been released those words can, and will, affect everything around you.

So don't horde your words, but don't shamelessly scatter them abroad.

Think a little about the power that word has,

Remember it has history, that small word has something to it more than just it's dictionary definition.

That word is Power.

And please remember the same is true of actions.

And action isn't just something that stands alone.

That act, is your History, your Present, and your Future

When you choose to do something, that's not all you choose

You are choosing who you become.

The atonement does help overcome sin.

But once an action has been made it's part of you.

You cannot erase it or ignore it.

You cannot choose to do without choosing to be

My second thought was a little deeper.

A little bit harder to grasp, and perhaps a bit more out there.

You are more than just yourself.

There is something in you that goes beyond you.

I can't fully explain what all that entails, because honestly I haven't fully figured it out yet.

But as that thought developed it became this:

There is a piece of God within you.

I'm not talking about having the Holy Ghost with you at all times.

This is something more than that.

Not only is the Holy Ghost always with you so that you have God around you.

But as His children, there is a small bit of God within you.

We are the literal children of God.

I am aware of the fact that my thoughts are perhaps a little strange, 

they are thoughts that have developed over time.

And new thoughts that have just occurred to me.

And either way I have a strong feeling within me,

a burning in my bosom persay;

that tells me without a doubt that they are truths. 

They may not be fully developed at this point, and they may only be partials of truths.

But even so they are a Truth.

I hope that you can feel the earnestness of my words here.

And that you will consider that I am a bit of a word horder.

I truly believe that words have a power that we don't understand.

So even if you don't fully agree with what I've said. I hope you will feel the same power I felt as I discovered these thoughts.

And the confirmation of them that I felt while writing them.
