This semester I am taking a creative writing class which I love, it's amazing; and I absolutely love the way the class is set up. However our most recent assignment is extremely difficult, at least for me. It's a flash fiction, which for those of you who don't know is a 300 words or less story that starts in the middle of an action. Starting in the middle of an action, not a big problem since I usually start my stories off in the middle of something or other, the hard part is the word limit. I'm not a particularly wordy person, when it comes to writing stories, but I do love my dialogue and description. Which you can't have much of with a 300 word limit. And of t course the hardest part is that we are doing this in teams of two, so you have to come up with an idea together, work out all the kinks together, and all that other fun stuff :P which for a loner like me is definitely difficult. Fortunately my partner seems to be the independent and so suggested that we each take the ideas we came up with and write out our own piece and then merge them together tomorrow in class. So it shouldn't be too bad once I actually sit down and write it.
And just in case you were wondering I am using this blog as an excuse to procrastinate writing my flash fiction.
